you left your headphones in my car just when i thought i'd moved on you were right there in my glove compartment
cinnamon buns and sex picture frames on torn walls my nail color lasted longer than you
the day i took plan b you bought me a croissant and some iced coffee from dunkin' donuts
nurse asked if my mother my mother should shift from full code to DNR DNR by email and then responded with a thumbs up
he told me i had something in my teeth "blackberry seeds," i said "thanks" but you said nothing after we had a whole conversation right before
you used to always ask for my things my sunglasses, my jewelry, my coffee, even when i brought you coffee "can i have it?" you'd say with a laugh and now, going through your things where all that was yours is now mine i wish i could ask you "can i have it?"
i wish i could soak into every grain of sand on this beach
florida, i don't know which souvenier to thank you for the cabana club shirt, or the mosquito bite packed ever with care on my ankle
the dots rise and fall lapping at my hope that you will not leave me on read
after you were gone winter came you never did like the cold
a call came at dawn you're in the hospital again fast, slow, the morning passed, while a tree was removed in my backyard a long life cut down for standing too tall with choking, gnarled, deep roots, and branches too heavy i ate a bowl of life for lunch considered these signs from the universe and made plans to go say goodbye
